Almost two months...

I began posting a couple months ago, fully meaning to add things as the days and weeks went by. The time has never come to sit, relax and create. Sigh.

Nonetheless, my intentions have been good, even admirable.

First, there was our wedding, the fruition of love left unrequited four decades. Many came from near and far to join us in our happiness -- it was a momentous, extremely memorable occasion. I continue to smile about daily.

When asked about our honeymoon, I respond to well wishers that every day is a honeymoon, and leave it at that. We continue to plan something -- family, get-together, national park (Yosemite? Yellowstone?) or something else all-together. Eventually, we will do just that.

In the meantime, there have been thank-you notes, an illness, construction projects, home maintenance, planting a garden, painting and hoped completion of a major re-organization (and clean-up!). Call it merging two households, Spring cleaning or something else altogether -- it all has to be done.

But no matter the project theme or goal, how trivial or tedious the work is, togetherness makes for a much lighter load.

We are nearly to our two month anniversary -- we were married April 10. We have surpassed six months of living together -- we climbed in a rented truck December 18. My dumbass habits haven't sent Donna scurrying. Our hugs and kisses are more special now then they were a few months ago.

And while I know she'll be there when I get home each day, I will never take it for granted that she has to be... I continue to believe this to be the very best thing that has ever happened to me, that the scale of happiness I'm experiencing will actually extend my life, and am grateful for every moment.
